My latest Flickr Upload
Tuesday, April 15th, 2008I posted this photo on my blog a couple of days ago. Just uploaded it to Flickr today. I think it’s the best of my waterfall photos that I took last week. I’d appreciate it if you would take the time to click on the photo (to take you to my Flickr page). I’d appreciate it even more if Flickr members would take the time to comment and fave it there. Thanks!

Caron County Park
Saturday, April 12th, 2008Caron Park is located about 4 miles west of Nerstrand Big Woods. It too contains a waterfall in a wooded setting. Here are a few photos I took when we visited there on Wednesday.

Upstream from the falls, there’s some shelves that the creek flows over, and a bridge. Coupled together, they made a photogenic scene.
I hope someone’s viewing these.

Memories of Spring
The weatherman had forecast sunshine with a high of about 50°F for us today. Instead, it stayed overcast, with the temperature pretty much stuck at 41°F. No matter… Ann, Gordon and I headed over to Nerstrand Woods State Park to photograph Hidden Falls and then, nearby Caron Falls. Since the rain, snow and wind at least stayed away, it really wasn’t that bad of a day — just a let down from what was “promised”. And, it was great spending time with Ann and Gordon.
I know I’ve been to this park, this time of year in the past, and photographed wildflowers. This year — no sign of them. No buds on the trees. Hardly any signs of spring. There were still even patches of snow around.
It seemed fitting to give this photo a monochromatic treatment. I think I remember what spring is supposed to be like but it seems like a long, long time ago now.
Oh yeah, and the forecast for the next few days? Rain tomorrow and Friday, changing to snow Friday night into Saturday when it’s supposed to taper off. Lots of wind too. Old man winter just won’t let go this year!
I’ll post more photos from today later.
