Introducing Alex, a 10 year old Terrier (Jack Russel?) Schnauzer mix. Not sure if that makes her a Schnerrier or a Tauzer!

OMG! You DO need your heads examined, I can hear you all saying!!! :-D

Not to worry. Alex is basically a foster dog. We’re taking care of her for a friend and she’ll only be with us for a few days until better arrangements can be made.

Of course, the pups want to play with her but she’s not so sure. She is gradually settling in though.

Last night, Rosie needed a bath. Warning to anyone looking for a dog — white ones really, REALLY show up dirt!. Anyway, after she was dried, Pat wrapped her up in a blanket. Big brother Sam lay down next to her to warm and protect her.

I finally managed to get some decent shots of Pip today. Usually, he’s either sleeping or zipping around at the speed of light. I managed to catch him during a transition moment this morning.

And, took a couple of photos of Sam as well.

Sam … A 6 month old mini-schnoodle (mini schnauzer-mini poodle cross), a bit large for his breed though. We figure he’ll probably fill out at about 20lbs. Hopefully, Sam will be my new little buddy and canoe-dog.

Pip … a 9 week old Shih-poo (Shih-Tzu - mini poodle cross), who will probably weigh in about 10-12 lbs when fully grown. The plan is that Pip will keep Mrs. Mocs company when Sam and I are on our trips. Time will tell how the plans work out.

They are actually half brothers, sharing the same father (mini poodle).

We picked them up yesterday. We still have not heard a sound out of Sam (a good trait for a Boundary Waters dog). Pip has squeaked a few times. Both are great with people, other dogs and cats.

p.s. Sorry I haven’t updated my blog in so long. Very busy lately!
