A problem on our trip

We stopped at a gas station along the way for the restrooms today. Pam, my sister-in-law, got out of the car, took about 3 steps and fell over a concrete bumper. To cut a long story short, she was taken to the ER by ambulance. They determined that she broke her elbow and her hip (which had been replaced a few years ago). The surgeon at the hospital (in Prescott, AZ) said doing the needed partial hip replacement would be the easy part. The elbow, however, is going to take a lot more work. She’s in surgery right now for the hip replacement and so he can look a little closer at the elbow. If he can’t fix the elbow there, she may have to be transported back to Phoenix where there are better facilities.

Needless to say, our trip is on hold right now. We don’t know yet what the next several days will bring. We’re staying in Flagstaff tonight (about 100 miles away from Prescott) and will be returning in the morning to meet with the surgeon again and discuss options.

Prayers and positive thoughts needed.
